Week 9- Last week!

Kia ora whanau

I would like to say a very big thank you to everyone for your support and help this year. The children have all worked hard and have made wonderful progress.
It really has been an absolute pleasure teaching your children and I am REALLY going to miss them all.
I hope they have enjoyed their first year at school.

Next year I will be in room 12 teaching in the senior school, so I will still get to see the children :)

It may be our last week, but there’s LOTS going on!

Junior school athletics day and Water play afternoon: This is on this Wednesday. Please send your child’s PE gear, school hat AND togs to school with them for this, and apply lots of sunscreen on before you send them to school.
We do each athletics event as a class, as the focus is only on participation.

End of year shared Christmas lunch- Thursday: Can each child please send a small plate of food to share for this.

School Tryathlon- Thursday: Run, bike, swim.
Juniors: 1.30-2.30pm.
Seniors and Middle School: 11-12.30.

The children will need to bring to school their:
- PE gear
- Swimming gear
- Bike or scooter.

Stationery: All school books and unused stationery will be sent home on Wednesday. Please ensure your child has their book bag to put everything in.

Reading books: Let's all have a little hunt around at home for any readers and return them to school this week.

Class awards for prize giving this Tuesday: It was difficult choosing the children from our class for the 2 Achievement awards, 2 Consistent effort awards and 1 Faith in action award, because we have so many little superstars in room 10!
I had to consider all curriculum areas, homework, behaviour and attendance before making a final decision on who would receive them.

You should all be proud of the progress your child has made in their first year at school. I am.

Our class awards are going to be awarded to:
Achievement- Adam and Amelia.
Consistent effort- Maliana and Zoe
Faith in action- Lydia

Holiday reading: Try and make sure your child continues to read and does Reading eggs over the holidays. The children enjoy reading and learning at school, and get so much pleasure browsing through books and trying to read them.

I hope you all have a happy and safe Christmas and New Year.

Take care and God Bless.
Eliana
