Principal's Shield

Each class only gets to choose 2 children a year to receive the Principal's Shield, so it's a really big thing.

I selected Nico to receive The Principal's Shield at Assembly on Friday.
Nico is always friendly, helpful and polite. He tries really hard at school and gives everything his best.

Congratulations Nico!

Week 6

Amelia's near new school jersey is lost. It has her name on the tag. Please check your child's jersey to see if you have it.

We have swimming this week. Swimming instructors are coming in to run lessons with the seniors this week, so we won't be swimming every day. But still pack your child’s goggles, togs and towel in a swimming/ plastic bag every day.

Big Day Out: Thank you to those parents who have said that they can help with supervision and transporting children for our Big day out. Let me know if you are able to help as well. The more parents we have the better :)
Our class and Room 9 are going to The Blue Lake/ Lake Tikitapu. The children are very excited!
More information will come out during the week.

Student-led Conferences/ Celebrations: These will be held next Thursday the 30th of November. More information about these will come out during the week.

At your child's SLC, they will:
- Introduce you to me.
- Show you where to sit.
- Share their favourite pieces of work from their books with you.
- Share their portfolio with you.
- Show you their art work around the classroom.

When your child has finished their SLC they will come and let me know, and I will have a chat with each family.

Portfolios and 20 week report: At the end of your child's SLC you can take your child's portfolio home.
If your child started school in weeks 4,5 and 6 of term 2, they will also receive their 20 week report.
The children who started after this time will get theirs later on in the term.

Spelling: Weekly spelling testing will continue this Friday.
Please go over your child's spelling words with them.

Phew- I think that's everything for now.

Have a lovely week.

God the Father, Jesus the Son and The Holy Spirit Science experiment

Today we did a science experiment.

We put milk in a bowl.

Then we added 3 colours of food colouring:
- Yellow for God the Father.
- Red for Jesus the Son.
- Green for The Holy Spirit.

Last we added dish washing liquid, and all of the colours came together.

The experiment reminded us that God the Father, Jesus the Son and The Holy Spirit are 1.

Kia ora whanau

Thank you so much for the beautiful spread of food that was sent along for our shared morning tea for Grandparents/ Grandfriends Day. It was a lovely day.
I have uploaded some pictures from the day below.

November testing: It's a very busy time of the school year for us with November testing and portfolio assessments.
We will be continuing with these this week :)

Mufti day: This Friday we have a mufti day. Children are encouraged to come dressed as a book character. Please send a gold coin donation for this.
All money collected will be going towards the Special Children's Christmas Party. The children invited to these are children who suffer from one of the following: life threatening illness, physical and intellectual impairment, domestic violence, or living in underprivileged circumstances.

The Goal is simple: to put smiles on these children’s faces for at least one day this year!

Spelling: Weekly spelling testing begins this Friday.
Please go over your child's spelling words with them.

Alphabet:
This week we look at the letter v, and o for the new children.
